23 Weeks

This week flew by, thanks to the holiday Monday!  With 17 weeks to go, we’re starting to feel the crunch of getting everything ready.  I focused on our registry this week as a few showers are being planned.  Next on the list is to finish cleaning out the office and order furniture.  We’ve already picked it out, and delivery should not take too long, so maybe we’ll make the big purchase within the next week.

I’m feeling great this week and Tippett is moving around like crazy.  I have started noticing his sleeping schedule as he’s active around the same times each day.  Usually when I wake up he is moving, then again around 9/10 am, after lunch, then dinner, then right before bedtime.  He already loves to use my bladder as a punching bag!  23 Weeks

With his sense of movement well developed by now, Tippett can feel me dance.  Now he is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango). Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that Tippett’s increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as Freddie barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.
