Ben and I spent Easter weekend at the for probably our last trip down before Baby Tipp makes his arrival. Maybe if I can convince my doctor to let me travel at 36 weeks, we will make it back down for Memorial Day weekend, which is doubtful. It’s pretty exciting to think the next time we go to the beach there will be three of us. I can’t wait for Tipp to grow up in Cherry Grove spending summer weekends playing on the beach building sandcastles, burying his Daddy in the sand and begging us to take him out in the ocean.
I’m still feeling pretty good. Tipp is moving around like crazy and still seems to have the room to flip every which way. It’s funny how I can tell if he is laying transverse by the way my belly feels and looks. The pollen is nasty this year and occasionally it makes it a little hard to get a good breath. Other than that we are just making final to-do lists and getting organized. My countdown is on at work where my temp started this week. Hopefully I’ll have 8 more weeks to train him before starting to work from home – which means only 2 more month ends!
Sorry for the Blackberry pictures – we’ve been horrible about taking pictures.
Baby Tipp now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, I’ll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, I should be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in our baby's hardening skeleton each day.
