26 Weeks

We spent the end of 26 weeks at the beach with beautiful spring weather!  After the St. Patrick’s Day Festival, my mom and I did some shopping.  Sunday was pretty lazy with lunch and the ACC Tournament Championship game with my dad.  The weekend also included not one, but two 5k walks to the pier and back for me.  I miss running so much and I’m already fantasizing about getting back out on the road.  This week I have an appointment with Dr. Gunter and my glucose test to test for gestations diabetes.26 Weeks

This week we also picked up our crib.  It is currently being store in my dad’s garage as we finish emptying the office and painting.  Hopefully next weekend all of that will be done, the dresser will be in and everything can be brought over for Ben to start putting the furniture together.

The network of nerves in our baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both my voice and Ben’s as we chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.
