Nursery Progress

This past weekend was a very productive one.  Thanks to my brother, sister-in-law and mom the office furniture was moved out in less than 30 minutes.  We celebrated at Carolina Brewery after it was safely stored in my parents basement.

Saturday, Ben and I got up early and made a big trip to Lowe’s for paint, supplies and lots of organization stuff.  Our house was a disaster and looked like we were just moving in – literally driving me insane.  My mom came over to help Ben paint, while I started to work on putting everything back in it’s place and reorganizing.  The painting was complete in no time, so my mom spent the rest of the afternoon helping deep clean the nursery and a few other rooms.  I guess I got a touch of the nesting bug as I decided to wash all of our bedding and wash windows inside and out.

Knowing the crib and dresser were arriving on Sunday, Ben and I went to Babies R Us Saturday night to purchase the mattress.  By dinner, we were exhausted and ended the night with grilled steaks and New Moon!

Sunday we were up early again to finish chores around the house, grocery shop and head to Sanford to get the dresser and crib.  My dad hauled everything back on the trailer and we decided to go ahead and put together the crib complete with the bedding.  I could not be happier with how everything is coming together – the furniture, the paint, the bedding!  I love it and it will be perfect for Captain Tippett!IMG_4573

After an exhausting weekend and celebrating my step-dad’s birthday, we came home Sunday evening tired.  I headed to bed early and woke up at midnight to a little elf downstairs working on the dresser!  Ben must have gotten a second wind and at 11pm started putting it together.  He didn’t come to bed until almost 3am and although the noise kept waking me up, I couldn’t stand to tell him to stop since I could tell how excited he was!  At 3am when he crawled into bed, I was reminded how lucky I Tipp and I are to have him!IMG_4571

Next on our to-do list is finish the room with accessories, order the glider and wash all the clothing and blankets we already have and start organizing the things to go in his dresser.
