Hello 3rd Trimester – 27 Weeks!

The third trimester really snuck up on us!  Good thing we planned this weekend to be super productive and start on his nursery.  I’m also starting to notice my belly being in the way more often.  Leaning over is getting difficult, but luckily I’m not waddling – yet!  I passed another hurdle this week , the dreaded glucose test.  The doctor’s office called and said I passed with flying colors!  I scored 91 and the cut off is 140.  I was so relieved that I can still enjoy my Jelly Belly’s just in time for Easter.

Time is flying by!  Our Babymoon trip to Charleston and Savannah is this next weekend.  I actually decided to sign up for the Cooper River Bridge Run, which will be a 10k walk for me.  And my 84 year old grandfather.  I knew I could not run it and was quite sad I was not participating for the 3rd year we’ve been going.  I knew if I could walk it, I could convince Papaw to walk it with me.  He thought he wasn’t going to be able to do it this year, but we talked him into it.  I just wouldn’t be the same without him.  And now there will technically be three of us crossing the finishing line!

After spending a day in Charleston, we’re heading to Savannah for a few days.  I’ve been researching tours, restaurants and shopping for the past few weeks.  It will be nice to take one last vacation with Ben, but also look forward to vacations with a new traveling buddy.27 WeeksThis week, Tippett baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, our baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now.
